Davenport is a recurring character from the 1997 USA Network series "La Femme Nikita". He is portrayed by actor Lawrence Bayne.
History[]
When Michael and Nikita defied the Type One Directive issued about their relationship, Michael was stripped of his Class Five standing. Davenport was the operative placed in charge of leading Michael's mission, with Michael now serving an insignificant role on them. To spare Michael further humiliation, Davenport relayed information privately to him and remained deferential to the former Class Five operative. Michael was unreceptive but he does convey to Nikita that he finds Davenport "capable". When a critical mission almost fails under Davenport's leadership, Michael steps in with Davenport's blessing. At the mission's successful conclusion, Davenport thanks Michael for his assistance and informs him that "he learned a lot."
Davenport is often used by Operations to spy and thwart Michael and Nikita's clandestine meetings. He has increasingly been asked to act on orders to kill Michael for insubordination.
While on a mission to retrieve a rouge Nikita, Madeline orders Davenport to abort the mission and bring in Michael and Kate Quinn, who she's determined is really Nikita under a prosthetic disguise, for questioning. Michael and Nikita as Quinn commandeer a Section van and prepare their escape. Davenport positions himself in the direct line of the van and forcefully requests that Michael stand down. Michael does not comply. Angry, Davenport draws his gun and once again orders Michael to stand down. Michael waits only a second before he presses on the gas and drives towards Davenport. He refuses to move and he gets run down as Michael and Nikita as Quinn drive away. Back at Section, Operations tries to communicate with Davenport. He's told by a member of Comm that they can't get a bioreading on him.
Two operatives approach Davenport's bloody and dead body on the pavement.
