Elena Vacek is a recurring character from the 1997 USA Network series "La Femme Nikita". She is portrayed by Pakistani born American actor Samia Shoaib.
History[]
Elena was Michael's long-term 'blood cover' wife and the mother of his child, Adam.
Unbeknownst to Elena, Michael had only married her as part of a deep cover assignment to get to her long estranged father, Salla Vacek, a highly elusive and influential terrorist. During this time, Michael was still married to his wife and fellow Section operative Simone.

Elena's marriage failed to lure out her father, nor did the birth of a grandchild. Michael continued to divide his time as an often traveling business man who gently encourages his wife to reconnect with her father, with that of a Class Five Section One Operative. When a targeted Nikita blindly stumbles upon Michael's blood cover life, he introduces Nikita to Elena as a cousin of sorts. Elena immediately takes a liking to Nikita and invites her to move in with the family while she works to establish herself in the city. Nikita's friendship with Elena was also used as encouragement for her to reconnect with her father.
When their continued plans to mend the relationship between the father and daughter fail, Section One poisons Elena's to lure Salla Vacek to his daughter's death bed. The ruse works and a Section operatives kills Vacek and then "kills" Michael's as well inside Elena's hospital room. Elena hysterically witnesses their murders until falling into silent shock.
Elena sits catatonic after her father and husband are murdered in front of her.
Section One continues to provide for her and Adam. Over a year after Michael's "death", Section learns that Salla Vacek's brother Stefan Vacek is looking into his brother's death. They place a Valentine operative named Robert Corliss to gain Elena's trust. Michael discovers this while performing surveillance on his family. When confronted, Corden tells Michael that he's been trying to establish a relationship between himself and Adam by posing as a surrogate father figure for the young boy. Elena remains grief stricken by the loss of her husband and is reluctant to enter a new relationship. Nikita, is ordered to reconnect with Elena and encourage her to move on and open her heart to another man. Nikita's advice is instrumental in helping Elena to open herself to Robert Corliss' attentions and the two of them spend the night together. Believing that Elena helped bring about Salla Vacek's death, Stefan orders a hit on Elena. Section relocates them unexpectedly when Michael interferes with the mission against her uncle.
Elena and Adam's new location is withheld from Michael for their safety.
Elena is later killed by a drunk driver and Adam is sent to a foster home. He is later kidnapped by The Collective to use as leverage against Michael, but the boy is safely returned to his father.
