"We're active in all sectors, Walter," Nikita points out. He advises her to get some sleep and that everything will be a lot clearer after she does so. She concedes and asks him to tell Comm to hold all her calls for three hours.

In her quarters in the Ready Room, Nikita collapses on on the mattress and prepares to get some rest. Seconds later, an incoming message filters into Nikita's quarters. With a sigh, she rises to receive it. On the screen Michael appears, informing her that the link with end in five seconds. He tells Nikita to bring him back in. She asks Michael for clarification and he answer that yes, he wants to brought back into Section.

Act 1[]

Mr. Jones is not pleased with the idea of bringing Michael back into Section. While in his office with Nikita he argues that for weeks Michael worked with The Collective to "inflict unprecedented damage and now suddenly, he wants to change sides." Nikita calmly argues that it's "been his plan from the start". Mr. Jones tells Nikita that she's not the best judge when it comes to Michael. "With the intel he would provide, we could strike back at the Collective," she tells him. "Assuming he's telling the truth," is Mr. Jones response. Michael did not suggest a protocol for the meet. He left it up to Nikita. She says it's a sign of good faith to assure them that the meet won't be a trap. Mr. Jones rises from his seat and considers their options. "Mr. Jones," Nikita says to bring his attention back to her. "Father," she tries instead and it works. "Section is falling apart. Michael is throwing us a lifeline. Accepting it might be the only chance we have to survive." Mr. Jones is clearly conflicted about agreeing with Nikita.

At a church, a Section vehicle pulls up and severals Section operatives exit and disperse around the grounds. Nikita exits the Section transport and walks up to the steps of a church. At Comm, Quinn informs Nikita that she sees no signs of any transmissions. Nikita tells her to do a reverse filter. Quinn reports that it and phase two filter are also clean. Nikita arrives at the entrance and steps inside. She walks down the length of the aisle until she reaches the alter. Turning in place, Nikita looks around a sign of Michael's presence. While her back is turned Michael emerges from behind the alter. He walks up to her and they silently take each other in. "You wanna do this?" Nikita asks. "I do," Michael responds and together they walk back down the aisle to the exit.

Upon arriving at Section One, operatives immediately notice Michael's arrival. Walter asks Michael how he's doing, "We'll see," is Michael's response. Nikita tells Michael that Operations will want a debrief and that she'll wait for him in Systems.

In the Perch, a weary Operations acknowledge's the "prodigal's" return. When asked what he wants, Michael tells him that he's there to debrief. He confirms that Nikita sent him to do so. Operations remarks that it must be "a joke on her part." Michael continues to wait silently. "Things have changed. Mr. Jones has taken a more active role. By the way, the real Mr. Jones is not Mick Schtoppel after all. Operations informs Michael of Mr. Jones real identity and of his status as Nikita's father. He wonders if Michael knew and Michael confirms that he didn't. Operations breaks out in laughter. "I wonder. You always were smart and what could be smarter than getting into bed with the boss' daughter." His good humor quickly evaporates after his accusations. Michael asks if Operations would like his debrief, Michael is waved off. "I've played the game too many times. It bores me. Jones and Nikita run things now. Go play with them."

Michael walks into Systems, where Mr. Jones and Nikita are seated together. Nikita introduces Michael and Mr. Jones to each other. Mr. Jones asks that Nikita give him a moment with Michael, to which she agrees. Mr. Jones immediately asks that everyone in Systems also leave. Michael takes a seat in Nikita's vacated chair and Mr. Jones prompts him with an "I'm listening." Michael informs Mr. Jones that The Collective plans to attack a conference that will be held in Novesat the following day to discuss ties between the FRY and NATO. Jones ruefully comments that the conference was supposed to be top secret. Michael says that they plan to assassinate the delegates and that he can stop it. Jones speculates that if that were to happen, it would set the region back twenty years. Michael tells him that he knows their plan and that he can stop it. He will only need Nikita to accompany him on the mission. When Jones asks Michael for his price, he responds by saying, "first let's succeed, then we negotiate."

From up in the Perch, Operations looks down at the briefing table. Quinn, who is seated at a mission briefing, looks up towards him. He steps away and darkens the Perch. Nikita sits opposite those gathered giving the mission briefing.

In the ready room, Nikita and Michael finish dressing in their mission gear. They cast careful glances at each other while they do so. Nikita updates Michael about a few changes that have been made since he's been away. Michael offers suggestions on personnel positions. She assures him that his changes will be made.

Together, Michael and Nikita work in tandem as they traverse the lower level hallways of the conference meeting. They encounter several members of the Collective, including those that are armed with suicide vests. They encounter resistance with one hostile in particular before they manage to prevent the detonation of the explosives on the final hostile's vest.

We could even have children of our own," Michael tells her. Nikita is moved but also slightly distressed by his words. "I feel I've lost the courage for our dreams," Nikita sadly admits. Michael kisses her temple. "It's no dream. We'll make it work," Michael answers with quiet confidence.

Michael walks to the small window and sees Adam in person for the first time in two and half years. Adam sits quietly on a bench alone. "You have quite the reputation, Michael. Some say you're the best operative alive, on either side. Do you think that's true?" Graff asks. Michael had turned away from looking at Adam, but he turns to answer. "Yes," he says simply. "Well, I like your confidence. You'll need it for the job I have in mind." Graff tells Michael that there is a man at Section One named Jones that they want. He wants Michael to bring Jones to him. That's the price for Adam's safety. "You have three days. Good luck." Michael back to watch Adam through the window as his son sits quietly bored and alone. • Operations: "This have changed. Mr. Jones has taken a more active role. By the way, the real Mr. Jones isn't Mick Schtoppel after all."
    Michael: "Who is he?"
Operations: "He's Nikita father. Did you know?"
    Michael: "No."
Operations: (laughs) "I wondered. You were, you were always smart and what could be smarter than getting into bed with the boss's daughter."
Michael: "You want me to debrief?"
Operations: "You'd give me enough to be useful, but not too much or you would lose your leverage."
    Michael: "Of course."
Operations: "I've played the game too many times. It bores me. Jones and Nikita run things now. Go play with them."
  • Mr. Jones: "I know you would want to go with him and raise him, as he should by his father. And I am willing to help but this is where the price comes in. When you go, Nikita stays."
    Michael: "That's up to her."
Mr. Jones: "No, it's up to me. Adam's location is archived. Operations can retrieve it. I will give it to you. You will go to him. Nikita remains behind. Agreed?"
    Michael: "No. It's Nikita's choice."
Mr. Jones: "Well suppose I don't give her a choice?"
    Michael:
"You won't harm me and you won't keep me from Adam."
    Mr. Jones: "Really? Why not?"
    Michael:
"You'll lose Nikita forever and you can't live with that."
  • Nikita: "I lied."
    Michael: "I know."
  • Michael: (kisses Nikita's hand) "Come with me."
Nikita: "I could never replace Elena in Adam's eyes, Michael."
Michael: "Don't try. Be yourself." (kisses Nikita's hand once more)
Nikita: "A white picket fence, minivan, Cocker Spaniel." (laughs)
    Michael:
"Why not? We could even have children of our own."
Nikita: "I feel I've lost the courage for our dreams."
Michael: "It's no dream. We'll make it work."
  • Quinn: "Where's Michael and Nikita?"
Operations: "Out shopping for a bedroom set, I suppose. How should I know?"
Quinn: "Doesn't that strike you as odd? She's level six. She should be on call at all times."
Operations: "Daddy's little girl does what she wants."
Quinn: "And what does Daddy's little girl want most?"
Operations: "Michael. She has him now."
Quinn: "And soon they'll have Adam. What would happen then?"
Operations: "Jones will never allow it."
Quinn: "You're wrong. I know him better than you do. He's wracked with guilt as it is. If she makes it a choice between killing her and letting her go with Michael, he'll let her go. And then, who will Jones turn to? Who will he put in power? You. There's no one else."
