Maurice Hurley was an American writer on La Femme Nikita during seasons one through three of the series. He is credited with writing six episodes of the series.

Hurley is best known for his work as showrunner during the first season of Star Trek: The Next Generation (1988). He is also credited with the creation of The Borg. He was co-creator of the shortlived 1995 series Pointman with La Femme Nikita executive consultant Joel Surnow. They had previously worked together on The Equalizer. He also worked as writer and producer on Miami Vice, Kung Fu: The Legend Continues, Baywatch Nights, and Baywatch. Hurley wrote two scripts for Surnow's 24.

He passed away on February 24, 2015 at the age of 75.
