Plot[]

At Comm, Nikita and Birkoff go over mission tapes from one of her missions. She glances up and sees several recruits walking by. Instantly, she recognizes one of them. "Jamey," she says in shock. Distracted, Birkoff questions her but Nikita is already walking away. She tells him that she'll be back.
Nikita intercepts Jamey before he can follow the rest of the recruits. Jamey is equally shocked to see Nikita as she was to see him. "How long you been here?" She asks. "Just over a year," he tells her. "What are you doing here? I thought you were dead. I thought you died in prison." An operative comes back to get Jamey and interrupts. "Don't tell anyone," Nikita cautions. Jamey doesn't understand. "You don't know me and I don't know you," she tells him before walking away.
Act 1[]
Operations approaches an assembled team at the briefing table. He begins by displaying a hologram of Stephanie Groves, a first tier special services op out of Poland, who was coordinating the Krakow operations that will go live in five days. She grabbed that morning by their target group. Because Groves has never been in hostile hands before, they are unable to determine her response to the situation, therefore she must be extracted or eliminated before they can proceed with the Krakow mission. Because their advanced intel anticipates little resistance, Operations will open the mission as a Wet Run. Recruits will be used in redundancy positions.
Nikita approaches Michael at the entrance to Van Access and tells him that they have everything. He instructs her to wait for the recruits. She does as asks and is surprised to see that Jamey is among them. "Don't screw up," she tells him after a moment.
In the mission van, Michael gives the team a review of the mission, its objective, and the layout of operatives at the site. "Take out any of their retreat," Michael tells them. "Will there be any?" Jamey asks. Michael looks at him but doesn't answer. Instead, he confirms further information with Birkoff. The van arrives on site and the operatives exit and scatter. "Don't ask non-tactical questions," Nikita tells Jamey as they head to their locations together. Jamey wants to know why not. She tells him that if has any problems on point, he can contact her on channel D. With that said, Nikita fires her grapple onto the roof and propels herself up. One the roof, she takes down two hostiles. At Comm, other operatives report to Birkoff the number of hostiles they encounter and take down. Birkoff informs Michael that the circle is clean it's clear for him to proceed.
Inside the facility, Michael uses a flammable foam to outline the perimeter of a door on the wall. He ignites it and it begins to burn through the brick.
Outside, Jamey looks towards his scope at a nearby building and sees movement inside. He reaches out to Nikita with what he's detected. She asks if the movement is hostile but Jamey doesn't know. Nikita tells him to run the filtering program but he tells her that the program isn't running when he tries. "It is running you just didn't recycle it." Jamey tells her that he forgot how and he's just going to shoot. Nikita tries to talk him through the program but Jamey insists on shooting, which alarms Nikita because they could be innocent. Nikita decides to make her way back towards Jamey. She runs across the rooftop and then repels back onto the ground.
Birkoff informs Michael that he has about thirty seconds before the flammable foam burns completely through.
Nikita gets to Jamey and points out where the movement is. Nikita takes his scope, quickly runs the program he'd struggled with and determines that the subject is innocent. She runs back to get into her position.
The foam burns through and Michael is able to push that portion of the wall down. He kneels in position and takes on enemy fire from two hostiles but he successfully takes them down. Michael enters into the outer pool facility and takes down additional hostiles as he works his way into the main pool area where the hostile is suspended from the ceiling. Birkoff gives the all the clear and orders all units in. Operatives enter from several other points while Michael watches. "Nikita, where are you?" He asks on his comm unit. Partially winded, Nikita enters from behind him and he turns towards her. "I thought I heard a hostile in the stairs." Section operatives carefully lower the hostage and Michael tells them that it's time to go.
Jamey walks down a secluded corridor in Section until he comes across Nikita who waits for him. He expresses surprise that there's somewhere they can talk. "When I tell you to meet me two minutes past the hour, that's when you show up," Nikita tells him sternly. He silently agrees. "This place tolerates no mistakes. You should get used to it." Nikita then punches Jamey in the stomach and then slaps him. "I'm giving you a fraction of what you deserve for what you did to Sheridan," she tells him.
Act 2[]
Nikita sits in Systems and starts pulling up information on her mother. Her searches leads her to information about a private detective that she's hired to assist her in her search for more information about Nikita's "death". Michael enters and walks to her. He asks what's she doing. "Filling in some gaps from yesterday's run. How's the hostage?" Nikita asks. Michael tells her that she didn't reveal anything. "I'm down tomorrow," Michael tells her. "Yeah?" Nikita acknowledges. Do you want to spend the day together?" Michael asks. Nikita turns to him with a subtly regretful look. "Well I'd like that Michael, but I've already made plans. Perhaps some other time?" Michael gives Nikita a small nod and heads out of Systems. Alone once again, Nikita continues her search for more information on the private detective.
Act 3[]
Act 4[]
Michael waits outside the hospital room until a tearful Roberta walks out. She closes the door behind her and walks to a corner across from Michael. She composes herself before speaking. "I want her taken off life support and her organs donated to someone who can use them." Roberta walks away, leaving Michael alone in the hallway.
In her hospital bed, Nikita processes her encounter with her mother and her words. She breaks down into tears and cries silently.

Nikita walks into Madeline's office. Nikita asks if the team has returned from Suriname. Madeline confirms that they have. Nikita ask how Jaime did and Madeline tells her that he did well. She asks if he'll move onto his next rotation and Madeline tells her that he will. "You've taken an interest in him," Madeline observes. "It's more than that. I know him," Nikita admits. "We grew up in the same neighborhood together. We weren't friends. In fact I didn't want anything to do with him. I did know him and I wanted to you that." Madeline tells her that she's glad she shared the information and Nikita walks out. Nikita walks across the main floor of Section One when Walter calls out her. Nikita greets him and asks if Michael is in his office. Walter tells her that he just went in. Walter looks jovial and ask how she's doing. Nikita grins back at his demeanor. "You look just as beautiful as ever," Walter compliments. "So I gather you had a very good time on your days off," she mentions. He tells her that good doesn't cover it. "it transcends good, great, excellent on its way to splendido. Nikita asks if he's going to see her again. "Nah, I just wanted to see her this once. She's got a life of her own, but it was..." Walter trails off. Nikita fishes for more information and all Walter can do is growl in reaction. He walks away leaving an amused Nikita. Up in the Perch, Operations watches them interacting, which Nikita notices before he too walks away.
Nikita steps into Michael's office. She finds him standing by the window. "I just wanted to say thank you," Nikita tells him after she approaches him. "That's the kindest thing you've ever done for him," she tells him with gratitude. Nikita thanks him again and turns to walk away but she stops herself. After a second of contemplation she turns back and walks up to Michael and kisses him lightly on the lips. When they part, Nikita looks at him and then walks out of his office. When Nikita crosses in front of the window she pauses and Michael turns his head. They stare at each other through the glass for several long seconds. Nikita offers him a small smile before she walks away.

Episode Quotes[]
- Jamie: "You know one thing you were always good at, making deals. A pack of cigarettes, a place to crash, you remember?"
Nikita: "What's your deal?"
Jaime: "That's real simple. You help me, I'll help you."
Nikita: "You don't have anything that I want."
Jaime: "What about your mother?"
- Michael: "I'm down tomorrow."
Nikita: "Yeah."
Michael: "Do you want to spend the day together?"
Nikita: "Well I'd like that Michael, but I've already made plans. Perhaps some other time?"
- Michael: "She's not going to stop until she finds you."
Nikita: (voice breaking) "I know how this has to end. I'd just like to see her first and, uh…talk to her."
Michael: "You know this can't happen."
Nikita: "Why not? Because they tell us it can't? You know that my whole life I - I lived with a mother that was a drunk. She couldn't hear me, couldn't talk to me...but the other day, when I saw her, it was like I saw her for the first time and all those horrible things...just gone. I've never seen her like that. Please…Let me do this. Please. She needs me to forgive her. That's why she's looking for me."
- Nikita: "That's the kindest thing you've ever done for me."
